Information Collected

Personal Information: To receive your InsideHook emails, all we require is for you to provide your email address. So that we may provide you with additional services, contests, or sweepstakes, and also content that is more interesting and relevant to you in particular, we may also request additional information such as your name, age, telephone number, zip code, or other information required for the additional Services. We may also request certain information from you that is not required for use of the Services, such as annual income, shopping preferences or age. This information is known as demographic and profile data, and is 100% optional. If you choose to share it, this data may be used to improve our site and/or tailor your experience, by delivering you content that we think might be of interest to you and displaying it according to your preferences. From time to time, InsideHook may offer sweepstakes, games and other contests on the Web site either by itself or in conjunction with a third party partner. You may be asked to provide your name, mailing address and/or email address and date of birth, as well as certain other information on an optional basis, in order to participate in such sweepstakes or contest. This information may also be used by InsideHook or its third party partner to send you information about InsideHook’s or such third party partner’s services in the form of an email or regular mail communication or a telephone call. We may combine the personal information you submit directly through this Web site with other personal information we have collected from you, whether on- or offline.  We may also combine it with information we receive about you from other sources, such as other companies and publicly available information sources.

We use and disclose personal information you provide to us: (1) to respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests, such as to send you documents you request or e-mail; (2) to send you important information regarding our relationship with you or regarding this Web site, changes to our terms, conditions, and policies and/or other administrative information; and (3) for our business purposes, such as marketing new products and services, data analysis, audits, developing new products or services, operating or enhancing our Web site, identifying Web site usage trends, providing the Services, maintaining customer relationships, improving the quality, safety, and security of our Services, administering your account(s), troubleshooting, evaluating Service performance, providing customer support, and determining the effectiveness of our Web site.

Log Files and Cookies: Like most standard Web site servers we use log files or “cookies” to collect certain information for users of the Web site. These include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. We and our service providers use this information for security purposes, to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to other personally identifiable information.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies.  Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer.  If you would prefer not to accept cookies, most browsers will allow you to: (i) change your browser settings to notify you when you receive a cookie, which lets you choose whether or not to accept it; (ii) to disable existing cookies; or (iii) to set your browser to automatically reject any cookies.  If you set your browser to reject cookies, part of the Web site may not work for you.

Choice/Opt-Out: If we ever send you information by email concerning new products or services that you did not expressly request, InsideHook will provide you with an email address by which you may request no future notices.

How We Share and Use Personal Information

Sharing for Services Administration: We may provide your information to our affiliates or to service providers for purposes related to Services administration, such as website hosting and moderating, mobile application hosting, data analysis, infrastructure provision, credit card processing, IT services, e-mail services, marketing services, auditing services, and other services, in order to enable them to provide services. These service providers include Sailthru and our analytics providers. If you use a credit or debit card to complete a transaction through our Services, we may share your personal information and credit card number with a credit card processing and/or a fulfillment company in order to complete your transaction, or such service provider(s) may collect that information from you directly, on our behalf.

Website Analytics: The Services use third-party analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Parse.ly) to collect and process data about your use of the Services, including when you visit the Services, URLs of the websites that you visit prior to visiting the Services and when you visit those websites, and IP addresses assigned to the devices from where you access the Internet. Our analytics providers may set and read cookies to collect this data and your web browser will automatically send data collected by those cookies to our analytics providers. Our analytics providers use this data to provide us with reports that we will use to improve the Services’ structure and content.

Sharing for Additional Content, Products and Services: We also make some content, products and services available through cooperative relationships with service providers, where the brands of our service provider appear in connection with such content, products and/or services. We may share with our service provider any information you provide, or that is collected, in the course of visiting any pages that are made available in cooperation with our service provider.

Sharing Information for Advertising and Other Promotional Purposes: We may use service providers and third-party advertising service providers to target and serve some of the advertisements you see through InsideHook. We may share your information, or technical or aggregate information, with service providers, third-party advertising service providers, our affiliates, third parties and advertisers for their use in displaying ads through our Services or for other promotional purposes, including displaying ads on other sites and apps. The technical or aggregate information may be based on data that includes your information and such items as type of pages viewed and categories of interest. These service providers, third-party advertising service providers, affiliates, third parties and advertisers may use their own browser or flash cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to collect technical information (such as device unique identifier, IP address, MAC address, browser type, pages visited, and location information) that is generated automatically as a user views or interacts with an ad. Sharing for Other Purposes: Please be aware that we may occasionally release information about you if required to do so by law or if, in our business judgment, such disclosure is reasonably necessary: (a) to comply with legal process; (b) to enforce our Terms of Service; or (c) to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of our services, us, our affiliates, our officers, directors, employees, representatives, our licensors, other users, and/or the public.

Please also note that as our business grows, we may buy or sell various assets. If we sell some or all of our assets, or InsideHook is acquired by another company, information collected about InsideHook’s users may be among the transferred assets.

We also use and disclose information that is not in personally identifiable form (such as anonymized, masked or de-identified information) for any purpose. If we combine information that is not in personally identifiable form with information that is (such as combining your name with your geographical location), we will treat the combined information as personal information as long as it is combined.

Links to Other Sites: In our quest to bring you the most relevant, actionable content possible, InsideHook may create links allowing you to access third-party sites. InsideHook is not responsible for the content that appears on those sites and does not necessarily endorse these sites. Please consult those sites’ individual privacy policies in order to determine how they treat user information.

Security: InsideHook takes reasonable measures designed to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Please be aware, however, that no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure and any information disclosed online can potentially be collected and used by parties other than the intended recipient.  If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us of the problem by contacting us in accordance with this privacy policy.

Your California Privacy Rights: The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) grants California residents certain rights with regards to our collection of their personal information. These rights include:

In the preceding 12 months, we have disclosed personal information for business purposes as described above in this privacy policy, including as described under “Sharing for Services Administration” and “Sharing for Other Purposes.” The use of personal information disclosed for these purposes may include identifiers (e.g., names, email addresses, IP addresses), Internet activity, and geolocation data.

In the preceding 12 months, we have sold personal information (as “sale” is defined under the CCPA) to third parties such as advertising partners and marketing affiliates, including for those purposes described above under “Website Analytics,” “Sharing for Additional Content, Products and Services,” and “Sharing Information for Advertising and Other Promotional Purposes.” These third parties may include those doing business as LiveIntent, Facebook, Keywee, Google, Skimlinks, Kutoku, AvantLink, Amazon, Pepperjam, Curacity and Kickbooster. Additionally, under California’s “Shine the Light Law”, California residents who provide personal information in obtaining products or services for personal, family, or household use are entitled to request and obtain from us once a calendar year information about the customer information we shared, if any, with other businesses for their own direct marketing uses.  If applicable, this information would include the categories of customer information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared customer information for the immediately prior calendar year. To obtain this information on behalf of InsideHook, please send an email message to tips@insidehook.com with “Request for California Privacy Information” in the subject line and in the body of your message.  We will provide the requested information to you at your email address in the response.  Please be aware that not all information is covered by the “Shine the Light” requirements and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.

Access: Upon request by the individual, if required by applicable law, InsideHook will grant individuals reasonable access to their personal information.  Such access may include: (1) confirmation as to whether or not personal information concerning him or her are being processed; (2) the purposes of the processing; (3) the categories of personal information concerned; (4) the recipients or categories of recipient to whom the processing data have been or will be disclosed, in particular recipients in third countries or international organizations; (5) if possible, the period for which the personal information will be stored, or, if not possible, the criteria used to determine that period; (6) the existence of the right to request from InsideHook rectification or erasure of personal information or restriction of processing of personal information concerning the data subject or to object to such processing; (7) information about the source of the data, if not directly from the data subject; (8) whether the personal information will be subject to automated processing, including profiling and, if so, the logic and potential consequences involved; and (9) if the data is transferred to a third country or international organization, information about the safeguards that apply.

Rectification: If the data subject requests, personal information collected by InsideHook will be corrected based on information provided by the data subject. Where necessary, InsideHook will take steps to validate the information by the data subject to ensure that it is accurate before amending it.

Erasure: If the data subject requests, their personal information collected by InsideHook will be erased without undue delay provided that one of the following applies: (1) the personal information is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected; (2) the data subject withdraws consent and there is no other legal ground for processing; (3) if required by applicable law, the data subject objects to the processing of the personal information; (4) the personal information have been unlawfully processed; (5) the personal information has to be erased for compliance with a legal obligation of InsideHook; or (6) where the personal information was relevant to the data subject as a child.

Portability: If required by applicable law, upon the data subject’s request, their personal information collected by InsideHook will be provided to them in a structured, commonly-used and machine-readable format or the personal information will be transferred to another party.

Deletion of Account: Should you ever decide to delete your InsideHook account, you may do so by unsubscribing. If you terminate your account, any association between your account and information InsideHook stores will no longer be accessible through your account.

International Users: InsideHook is based in the United States. By accessing or using the Services or otherwise providing information to us, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the U.S. and other countries. While this privacy policy applies to personal information generally, the local laws, rules and regulations of jurisdictions that are applicable to InsideHook (“Local Laws”) may require standards which are stricter than this privacy policy and, in such event, InsideHook will comply with applicable Local Laws.  Specific privacy policies may be adopted to address the specific privacy requirements of particular jurisdictions. Your personal information may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities or service providers. We may transfer your Personal Data outside Europe to the United States or any country that InsideHook or its service providers may have operations.
